This means that every member of our team is guaranteed a real Living Wage – one that reflects the actual cost of living, not just the government minimum.

Why it matters

Becoming a Living Wage Employer isn’t just about pay. It’s about fairness, recognition and making sure that the people who support our community every day are supported too.

From our mentors and support team to our coordinators and admin staff – everyone at AutismAble plays a part in helping our group members thrive. And so, we believe they deserve to thrive too!

We are very much a people-first organisation, both in the services we deliver and in how we treat our staff behind the scenes, and this accreditation reflects that commitment.

Aligning pay with purpose

By joining over 16,000 employers across the UK in committing to fair pay, we’re proud to stand alongside a growing movement for better work, especially in the social and care sectors, where fair pay matters more than ever.

What is the real living wage?

The Real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate independently calculated based on actual living costs. As of 2024/25, it is:

• £12.60 per hour across the UK (vs the government minimum of £12.21 for over-21s)
• Credited with delivering over £3.6 billion in pay rises to low-paid workers since 2011

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that AutismAble has joined the movement of over 16,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.”
