We’re incredibly proud to share that Hebburn Town AutismAble FC have had an outstanding 2025-26 season, winning both the Durham FC Community and Inclusion League and the Community and Inclusion Cup… our fourth league title win overall!

It’s been a season that reflects not just success on the pitch, but real development in attitude and teamwork across the group.

A season shaped by growth and ambition

At the start of the season, our Tuesday sessions were very much a casual kickabout, with a strong focus on the social side of football. While this was a really positive foundation for the team, there was also a shared feeling from the players that they wanted to be challenged more and push themselves further.

Together, alongside coach Dan, they agreed to introduce more structured, purposeful training sessions that would help develop their game technically, while still keeping the fun element that the team is built on.

From there, the group started working through different areas of the game, from technical ability through to decision-making in match situations.

Turning training into results

What followed was a real turning point in the season!

In the first game week after that decision, both teams went unbeaten against all opposition. This became a consistent pattern throughout the year, with Hebburn Town AutismAble Black and Golds establishing themselves as a dominant force across fixtures.

That momentum carried through the season, with both teams finishing 1st and 2nd in the league, alongside success in the cup competition as well.

It’s a real credit to not just the players’ ability, but their commitment to applying what they’ve learned in training into real game situations.

More than football

One of the most important aspects of this season has been that the social and enjoyable side of the group has never been lost, even with the introduction of more structured sessions.

If anything, it has strengthened!

The players have developed their communication on the pitch, their ability to give and receive feedback, and their confidence in supporting each other during games. The team environment remains positive, inclusive, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.

A season to be very proud of

Reflecting on the year, coach Dan said:

“Over the course of the season, the lads have drastically improved in both their ability but mainly their attitude towards the game.

This first season with the group has been nothing short of outstanding. It’s a credit to the players and their willingness to engage, learn and competitively enjoy their football, regardless of their starting ability.”

A big congratulations to the team

Winning both the league and the cup is such a fantastic achievement, and a real testament to the hard work shown by every player involved.

We are incredibly proud of Hebburn Town AutismAble FC and everything they have achieved this season!
