Youth Investment Fund Renovation Project: A Progress Report

We are delighted to bring you an exciting update on our Fowler Street renovation project, made possible by the generous Youth Investment Fund grant of £478,225. In collaboration with J & S Joinery North East Ltd, the renovation, which began on the 30th of October, is on track for completion by the end of April 2024. Since the project’s last update, the premise has undergone a remarkable transformation:
  • Floors and walls have been stripped to create a fresh blank canvas.
  • Walls have been knocked down to create an open and dynamic space.
  • Preparations have been made for a brand-new lift installation, ensuring accessibility to all.
  • New insulation and plasterboard has been put up to create a comfortable setting for youth engagement and learning.
Hannah Lindsay and Jennifer Preston from the Youth Investment Fund recently visited the site to see first-hand the progress achieved so far with the fund’s support.

Once complete, the newly renovated Youth Hub will house our brand-new youth offering for individuals aged 11 to 18, along with our create pathway, featuring filmmaking, photography, and music sessions.
